Stop 1
Trou aux Cerfs volcano
Start near Curepipe at Trou aux Cerfs, a dormant volcano 605 metres above sea level. A short walk around the rim of the crater, roughly 300 to 350 metres across, gives you sweeping views over the island's mountains and coast.
-

Stop 2
Grand Bassin (Ganga Talao)
At about 550 metres in the hills of Savanne, this sacred crater lake is the most important Hindu pilgrimage site in Mauritius. Temples and shrines to Lord Shiva and other deities line the shore. The lake is around 18 metres deep, and fishing is forbidden because of its sacred status.

Stop 3
Black River Gorges & Alexandra Falls
Black River Gorges National Park protects the largest native forest in Mauritius and more than 50 km of hiking trails. From the Alexandra Falls viewpoint you look out over deep gorges, rivers and mountain ranges that are home to rare and endangered plants and wildlife.

Stop 4
Chamarel Waterfall
The tallest waterfall in Mauritius plunges more than 80 metres into lush forest. Fed by three streams of the Saint Denis River, it pours over volcanic rock 8 to 10 million years old, some of the oldest on the island.

Stop 5
Seven Coloured Earth & lunch
Finish at the Seven Coloured Earth Geopark, where dunes in shades of red, brown and violet formed from weathered volcanic rock. Stop for lunch nearby before heading back.
